There are some very convenient apps out there like “Dash Board Technologies.” With a few initial inputs, your phone can overtake the responsibility of remembering when your car needs a trip to the garage. It can even alert you to oil change coupons at the same time.
Next time you pull in for a lube job, scour your receipt for information. It should list the date, the current mileage, the type of oil and number of quarts used. Input this information where the app asks for it, and then forget it. When the time is looming near for another appointment, your phone will notify you. It may even be compatible with your e-calendar. If so, it will put any date sensitive information right onto your calendar reminding you to make an appointment. Even more convenient is that these apps are often ad content supported which means that just as you are reminded of your impending maintenance you will likely be able to scour the margin ads for oil change coupons from local retailers.
There are other apps designed specifically to help you to find good deals on car maintenance. One called “Tap Savvy Oil Change” is dedicated to keeping track of good deals for you. Using your location information, it will provide information on upcoming oil change coupons, advertised deals, and price comparisons. Using this one together with a maintenance tracking app is sure to find you a good deal at the right time.
You can, of course, use an app like “Around Me” or just the good old wireless connection to search for an establishment. This is a rather convenient idea if you happen to be traveling or if you travel a lot and have to depend on car care services from coast to coast. It can also make your life a lot easier if you are a driver in the minivan brigade. If you find yourself with a little time waiting for ball practice to be over or if gymnastics class is running late letting out, you can use such an app to find a quick lube place near your location. There is nothing like accomplishing multiple tasks in one trip, and again, the content tracker will generally provide you with discounts based on your location, demographics, and usage of the app.
If you are loyal to a certain company, which is not a bad idea, it is likely that the company has an accessible app. In this case, the information that has always been on file at the store will now be available on an app for your phone or tablet.
